Of course, it may happen that you “fall in love” at first sight, but think carefully whether this is the best pet for you. How will it fit into your living conditions, responsibilities, and your plans for the coming years? What is your lifestyle – are you active and sporty, in which case such a pet would suit you, or are you perhaps in a calmer stage of life, dreaming of gentle walks with a four-legged friend?

The Animal Welfare Association “Skitnica” Kakanj encounters the problem of stray dogs and challenges within the local community on a daily basis. One of the main goals of our association is to address these issues—both the needs of the community and the plight of abandoned dogs—through public education as well as by setting examples through our own work.

Animals that our Association has rescued and successfully rehomed. These are the stories of dogs and cats who once faced abandonment and uncertainty, but thanks to our dedicated volunteers and supporters, they have found safety, care, and ultimately their forever homes. Each adoption is not only a new beginning for the animal but also a reminder of the positive change we can achieve together.
